ITEMS I LOVE
Want to do some mat Pilates at home, or curious about which kind of grippy socks I'd recommend? This section is for you! Listed below are some of the items I love and use myself or in the studio. Note: these are not affiliate links. I just like the products!
We do require socks to be worn in the studio for class. Regular socks are fine but grippy socks are recommended. They offer some extra security and stability for certain exercises. The last thing you want is to be up in a plank with your toes on the footbar and realize your feet are about to slip off! The following are a couple great options.
My personal favorites are Tavi Noir: Tavi Low Rise Grip Socks | Low Rise Socks | Tavi Active
Another great option from Amazon: Grip Socks for Women
Adding in some practice at home is a fabulous way to work on strength when you're out of the studio! Ask me if you'd like some ideas on exercises to do at home! I love mat Pilates so I'll be thrilled to share some of my favorites with you. Here are a few great tools to keep on hand at home.
This is the ring we have in the studio: Ultra-Fit Circle | Balanced Body
This is a second great option from Amazon. I have used this ring and it's a good choice: ProSource Pilates Resistance Ring
This is a great pack with different resistances: THERABAND Resistance Bands Set, Professional Non-Latex Elastic Band
I have tried quite a few options of ball and it's hard to choose! If you're looking for one that is similar to what we have in the studio, make sure you look for one that has a size of 8-10".
This is a nice choice (and what I just recently bought for classes!): STOTT PILATES Mini Stability Ball (Lime), 10 Inch / 25 cm : Sports & Outdoors
Another good ball: ProBody Pilates Ball Small Exercise Ball, 9 Inch Bender Ball
Balanced Body is always excellent: Inflatable Ball Storm Gray | Balanced Body
